SOLOMONS, MD - On Sunday March 29 at 10:34 p.m. Calvert Sheriffs Deputies were called to Catamaranâ€™s Restaurant in Solomons for a disorderly person. Subsequent investigation by Sheriff's Deputy John Harms revealed eveidence that Dennis Marvin Erich, Jr., 40 of Prince Frederick damaged a tire on a vehicle parked outside the restaurant with a knife after he was asked to leave the establishment. Erich then threatened a patron with the knife but did not injure him. Erich was arrested and charged with malicious destruction of property and second degree assault. The damage to the tire is valued at $500.
Four nights later on Thursday around midnight Sheriffs deputies were again called to Catamaran's for a disorderly subject. Upon arrival, Deputy Robert Burggraff observed Jeanna Sue Ann Lehnen, 20 of St. Leonard who appeared to be intoxicated. Witnesses informed Burggraff they had observed the the underaged Lehnen go to her car, drink alcohol, and then return to the establishment. Catamaran's staff advised Lehnen that she needed to leave but she refused. Lehnen became increasingly disorderly as Deputy Burggraff attempted to find her friends so they could offer her a ride home. He subsequently arrested Lehnen and charged her with disorderly conduct. The press release from the sheriff's Office did not indicated that any type of alcohol consumption test was administered by Deputy Burgraff or that Lehnen was charged with underaged drinking.
Dep. Thomas Rickard took a report of a stolen vehicle from a victim on Pushaw Station Road in Owings on April 4. The victim advised that at approximately 4:44 a.m. she was awakened by her dog barking and looked outside to see her vehicle being driven out of her driveway. She advised that the vehicle was unlocked and the keys were in it. The vehicle is a 1996 red Dodge Avenger 2 door worth $3000. Dep. Rickard will continue the investigation.
On March 29 at 11:31 p.m. Dep. Roscoe Kreps conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at Md. Rt. 260 west of Md. Rt. 2. The driver was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana. Kreps arrested Christopher David Gordon, 23 of Bowie and charged him with possession of marijuana and possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia, a blue glass smoking device.
On April 1 at 2:20 p.m. two unknown suspects entered the Blockbuster Video store in Dunkirk and stole almost $600 in video movies. DFC James Smith is investigating.
Dep. Roscoe Kreps investigated a call for a suspicious vehicle in the area of Golden Russet Drive in Dunkirk on April 2 at 2:40 p.m. After making contact with the vehicle owner, he was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana. Kreps arrested Stewart Gordon Gross, 55 of Hughesville and charged him with possession of marijuana and possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia, a hand rolled marijuana cigarette.
A black 2005 Ridgeline trailer valued at $2500 was stolen from a construction site on Hospital Road in Prince Frederick between April 2 and 3. Dep. Craig Johnson is investigating.
An employee and a customer of Buehlerâ€™s Market in St. Leonard were both arrested for assault on April 4 at 6:30 p.m. after they got into a fistfight in front of the store. The customer advised that the employee refused to wait on him and the employee advised that he believed the customer was attempting to buy alcohol for underage persons who had earlier tried to buy alcohol but did not have the proper I.D. DFC James Bell arrested Aaron Robert Fritch, 20 of St. Leonard and Patrick Thomas Brown, 28 of St. Leonard and charged each with second degree assault and disorderly conduct.
Unknown suspect(s) spray painted a garage door on a home on Beach Drive in St. Leonard causing $100 in damage. DFC Joseph Windsor is investigating the vandalism that occurred overnight between April 4 and 5. A second spray painting occurred in the same time frame on Ave D in St. Leonard where a Chevy van was spray painted resulting in $500 in damage.
