Captain's School for serious mariners
Press release - True Course Captains School

TrueCourse Captain’s School was started by licensed Captains in order to share boating knowledge with enthusiastic skippers. We recognized that many experienced boaters crave additional knowledge beyond the safe boating courses, and also some may wish to turn their hobby into a full or part time career by obtaining their OUPV (Operator of Uninspected Passenger Vessels, known as the Six-Pack License). The

US Coast Guard (USCG) approved courses were developed to advance boating skills, to tune the skipper for the USCG test and to assist the skipper in obtaining their captain’s license. TrueCourse realizes that the students not only need assistance for the classroom and test components, but to complete the list of requirements and documentation for the application to the USCG. We also continue to update the Captain regarding upcoming changes in regulations and with their license renewal, due every five years.

Instruction includes all areas to achieve your license, including:

Mariner Rules of the Road
Deck General and Advanced Safety
Navigation and Navigation Aids
Chart Plotting
A review of the USCG Captain’s License application

TrueCourse Captain’s School will supply all the gear, charts and books for the course. An individual must be at least 18 years old to qualify for a USCG license. Prince George's Community Collegeis pleased to offer the following course on Largo Campus on the following dates:
