Several outdoor farmers markets now open in Calvert County

CALVERT COUNTY, MD. Eating fresh and eating local will be easier than ever this year at three Calvert County farmers market locations. Offering a host of Southern Maryland produce, the Calvert County markets are now open on the following days:
North Beach: Fridays, 6-9 p.m., through October 2
Prince Frederick: Saturdays, 8 a.m. - 12 p.m., through November 28
Solomons: Thursdays, 4-8 p.m., through November 19
Late spring markets include bedding plants (vegetable, herbs and flowers), hanging baskets and tasty salad greens, radishes, squash, potatoes and strawberries. Markets will include many of the favorite vendors from last year with plenty of fresh produce, baked goods and cut flowers.
 
All county farmers markets accept WIC and Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program vouchers from the Maryland Department of Agriculture.
