During the week of March 1 through 7, deputies of the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office responded to 1,714 calls for service throughout the community. Additionally, deputies arrested 5 people and charged them with DWI/DUI during the week.
Theft
On March 2 shortly after midnight, DFC David Gatton responded to a home on 28th Street in Chesapeake Beach where the victim advised that unknown suspect(s) had stolen $600 worth of copper welding leads from bed of his vehicle. DFC Gatton is investigating.
Theft
Unknown suspect(s) entered an unlocked vehicle while it was parked at the Rod ‘N Reel Restaurant sometime on March 1 and took two DeWalt saws and a MAG flashlight, together valued at $534. DFC Justin Livingston is investigating.
Theft
A victim advised DFC Carl Fischer that overnight between March 4 and 5 someone broke the passenger side window of his vehicle and stole $100 worth of items from inside, to include Bose headphones and a black hooded sweatshirt. The damage is estimated at $200. Anyone with information is asked to contact DFC Fischer at 410-535-2800.
Burglary
Sometime between February 27 and March 6, unknown suspect(s) broke into a home on Algonquin Trail in Lusby causing $200 in damage. It does not appear that anything was taken. Dep. Jason Lord is investigating and can be reached at 410-535-2800.
Theft
Two vehicles parked on Arbor Way in Owings had windows smashed out and items stolen from within overnight between March 5 and 6. Dep. Roscoe Kreps is investigating the thefts in which a subwoofer box with 2 Rockford Fosgate subwoofers worth $350, 2 Kicker amplifiers, 330 W and 1000 W, valued at $500 were stolen and $350 in damage was done.
Burglary and DOP
Three male juveniles, all of St. Leonard, were charged with burglary and destruction of property on youth reports after they were caught at a home owned by Jefferson Patterson Park on March 6 at 4:21 p.m. The home is being renovated and was secured at the time the youths were seen at the home by the residents of a neighboring house. Those residents heard breaking glass and detained the boys until DFC David Denton arrived. The juveniles, ages 12, 13 and 14, were all charged and released to a parent. The damage is estimated at $100.
