PRINCE FREDERICK, MD - Constellation Energy and the Calvert
County Sheriff’s Office have a long standing excellent relationship
and recently Constellation Energy again provided for the needs of the
Sheriff’s Office. Matthew Lawrence, Supervisor – Security
Operations, is pictured here donating a License Plate Reader (LPR) to
Lieutenant Bobby Jones (receiving the box) and Lieutenant Colonel
Thomas C. Hejl. Mr. Lawrence, a retired law enforcement official
from the Maryland State Police, indicated Constellation Energy is
always looking for ways to assist law enforcement and using the
modern technology of an LPR reaps tremendous benefits and provides
yet another safety outlet for the citizens in Calvert County.
Sheriff Mike Evans would particularly like to thank Edward Goetz,
Vice-President – Corporate & Information Security as the
authorizing official of Constellation Energy for this donation.
License Plate Reader (LPR) is 21st
century technology at its best. The instrument is attached to a
vehicle and as the vehicle patrols, the LPR has the capability of
reading vehicle license plates. The software is then able to alert
the deputy if the vehicle is stolen, if the operator’s driver’s
license is suspended or revoked, if the owner of the vehicle is
wanted and other actions as well.
