Colonel Andris Neimanis, M.D.

Andris Neimanis, 74, passed away in the early morning hours of Thursday, April 28th, 2011 at his home in Dunkirk, Maryland.
He was born in Liepaja, Latvia and came to the USA - with his mother and father - at the age of 12. He graduated from Saugerties High School in upstate NY, attended Harvard undergraduate for pre-med and earned his medical degree from the University of Rochester. Andris began his career as a flight surgeon with the USAF, completed a residency in dermatology at Mass General Hospital in Boston, MA. and served as the Chief of Dermatology at Malcolm Grow Hospital at Andrews Air Force Base in Camp Springs, Maryland. Dr. Neimanis retired as a full Colonel from the Air Force in 1985 and completed his professional career in dermatology with Kaiser Permanente 1999.
Photography, fishing, opera, spending time with family and traveling the world were favorite past times.
Beloved husband of the late (2001) Judith J. Neimanis and loving father of Lisa and Peter; brother of Valdis and grandfather of Christopher, Brenna and Jacob.
Interment at Arlington National Cemetery, Wednesday, September 7, 2011, 11:00 am.
