Free Rabies Clinics
Calvert County Sheriff's Office Animal Control

The Calvert County Sheriff’s Office Animal Control Unit wants to remind pet owners that all dogs and cats over the age of 4 months are required by state law to have a rabies vaccination administered to them.

Also, all dogs and cats over the age of 6 months are required by county ordinance to have a valid pet license.

Failure to have current rabies vaccinations and/or a county pet license may result in a fine starting at $50.

Pet licenses will be sold at the FREE RABIES CLINICS on April 12 at the Prince Frederick Firehouse Company 2 and April 25 at the Chesapeake Ranch Estates Clubhouse.

Both free clinics will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. You can also purchase county pet licenses at all county veterinarian offices, local Animal Welfare groups and the Sheriff’s Office.

Cost of county pet licenses are $5.00 for spayed/neutered pets and $15 if they have not been spayed/neutered. The county pet license is valid for one year from date of purchase.

For more information, please contact the Animal Control Unit at 410-535-1600 extension 2526.
