On March 13, 2008, Jack Smith, Superintendent of Calvert County Public Schools, announced the appointments of four Calvert County elementary school vice principals effective July 1, 2008: Lisa Morgan, currently a Vice Principal in Charles County, will become Vice Principal at Appeal Elementary; Janel McPhillips, Dean at Mutual and St. Leonard Elementary Schools, was promoted to Vice Principal at St. Leonard Elementary; Paul Reilly, Transition Coordinator for the Special Education Department, will be the Vice Principal at Patuxent Elementary; and Connee Rudd, Learning Specialist at Plum Point Elementary, will be the Vice Principal at Windy Hill Elementary School.
The vice principal vacancies at the elementary schools were created on March 6 when Smith promoted the individuals who are currently in those positions.
“In filling these positions, we were fortunate to have a talented pool of professional educators to draw from,” said Smith. “We had applicants from within and outside of our school system. We were able to promote and hire individuals who are ready to take leadership positions in Calvert County, working with our students, parents, staff and communities.”
In addition, Jon McClellan, Supervisor of Instructional and Informational Technology, was appointed Director of Instructional and Informational Technology effective July 1, 2008.
